What Happens if You Arrive Late to Your Guest House Booking?

Guest Houses do not run a 24-hour reception, so a late arrival needs a person to stay up or a plan to be made. Almost every host will do this happily. What causes a genuine problem is arriving at 23:00 unannounced at a property where the gate is locked and everyone assumed you were a no-show.

The rule is simple: message your host as soon as you know. A delayed flight, traffic on the N1 or a meeting that ran over are all normal, and one WhatsApp turns a problem into a non-event. Many hosts will also leave a cold plate or a key arrangement if you will miss dinner entirely.

Standard check-in at Dunton is from 14:00 to 21:00, and late arrivals are by arrangement at no extra charge. We will meet you at the gate whatever time you land, provided we know roughly when to expect you.
