Our story
Fifteen rooms, two owners, and a standard that has not slipped
Dunton began as a family home in Rivonia and grew, room by room, into a 15-room guest house. Nothing was outsourced along the way: the same family still checks guests in, cooks the breakfasts and decides what gets fixed, replaced or improved next.
That is the whole model. Independent assessors grade the property at 4 stars and guests rate it 4.9 out of 5, but the part guests tend to write about is being recognised on the second visit. Fourteen years in, Gigi and Iris still greet most arrivals themselves.

We've lived at Dunton for fourteen years, and it's still our home first and a guest house second. Iris is the one who'll answer your first message, and Gigi is the one who'll remember how you like your eggs when you come down for breakfast. Most evenings you'll find one of us in the garden, and if you need anything at all — an early start, a late arrival, a recommendation for dinner — just ask. That's the whole point of staying somewhere family-run: you're not checking into a hotel, you're coming to stay with us. We look forward to meeting you.
Special diets, an 05:00 departure, a printer for a proposal due that morning — one message sorts it, because the person reading it owns the place.
